EXTRAS NEEDED! Updated 6/1/08

Throughout filming in summer 2008 we'll constantly need additional actors and extras to fill the halls of Snogwarts School. E-mail brooke.walls.hp@gmail.com to be added to the casting call list. Principle photography will take place mainly in southern Michigan and northern Indiana in the South Bend/Notre Dame area from May 17 until August 3.

Please note: all positions are non-paid. Participants receive credit in the film (which also goes on IMDB.com) and a discount on a copy depending on time and involvement.

Here are the dates we need extras for scenes in the film and the type of character. Exact times and locations T.B.A. but they are all weekends and filming typically takes place from 9:00 a.m. into the evening. Refreshments are provided and meals if your scenes last that long.

E-mail our Assistant Director Brooke Walls at brooke.walls.hp@gmail.com and let her know if you can attend any of these dates. You can appear in more than one, or come to all if you like! The roles will be available “first e-mail, first served” meaning if we only need 10 people she’ll cut it off at 10, perhaps allowing a few more extras just in case. If we meet our quota, you’ll be put on a stand by list in case there are any cancellations.

Please respect everyone’s time and show up on time and give at least 3 days notice for cancellations or you will not be allowed to sign up for any other dates.

STUDENT CHARACTERS: When we need “students”, actors should look between ages 11-18. Slightly young is OK or college age if you look young. Please bring your own white dress shirt (long or short sleeve) and black/dark pants or black skirts for girls (pants OK too). We will provide ties and some extras black robes for a few students. Feel free to bring your own Harry Potter costumes, but we cannot use the official HP tie or any logos. We will have fake logos to cover up insignias bellowing to Warner Bros.

Minors under 12 should be accompanied by at least one adult. It is OK to come with several friends and 1 adult. All actors must sign our talent release form and any minor under 18 must have their parental signature, even if you come with a sibling or a friend’s parent. Download the form from our website (TO THE RIGHT) to fill out ahead of time. Forms will also be available on set.

MAY 31 (Saturday)

JUNE 7 (Saturday)

We need 100 extras to play all four student houses in the Grub Hall: Gryppendork, Slyperin, Huffenpuff and Rainsebraw. We will assign people to houses if we need to disperse people evenly. We’ll also shoot crowd shots for the Squidditch match against our green screen.

JUNE 14 (Saturday)

We need 10 students for various classroom scenes, any house.

JUNE 15 (Sunday - Father’s Day)

We need 15 students for Hagard’s class and walking by in the background. We’ll be shooting at an awesome house that looks like a castle! www.beyercastle.com

JUNE 22 (Sunday)

We need as many people from 7 up to 20 years to play the Cheesely kids at their “poor witch trash” trailer. You need red hair, or hair that is light enough to be sprayed red or temporally dyed. Dress as shabbily as possibly with holes in your clothes and patches. We’ll bring some spare costume pieces. Might end up being a morning shoot so catch church early!

JUNE 28 (Saturday)

We are still trying to secure a library or bookstore location for our finale with K.J. Bowling’s book reading. We need a student age crowd (some adults OK) to be her audience. Looking for 30 people. Actor Kiran Shah will be in that scene as Dumpy the Houseschmuck. He’s coming all the way from London and was in CHRONICLES OF NARNIA and LORD OF THE RINGS.

JULY 19 (Saturday)

We need 10 students for scenes in the Gryppendork common room and the Room of Desirement.

JULY 26 (Saturday)

We need lots of kinds of people for the magical convention. Up to 100 people would be great. We need young, excitable Harvey Putter teen fan girls, adults to dress like witches and magical convention nerds, whatever we can think off. Bring your own creative witch/warlock/magical costume (no trademarks allowed) and we’ll have some extra costumes as well generously given to us by the Fun F/X costume warehouse.
