Describe your worst session.

My worst session was my first. We did it in January and the temperature was nearly ten degrees below zero. We were outside from the get go, starting by the river and then moving downtown. I remember my nose and ears getting so cold that they turned red, which made a lot of the pictures worthless no matter how good they might have been. Also this was my first time so it took me a while to adjust and get comfortable.

Compare your first modeling experience with your most recent photo session, what knowledge and experience have you gained?

Wow, I’ve really learned a lot. From posing, to clothing, to hair – all these things make sense the more you do them. What I’ve really learned is that being comfortable is what’s important. If you’re not, it will show through in the final product. Also, it’s important that you allow yourself to let go ever so often to allow different emotions to show through. Last but not least it’s important to stay flexible and be versatile. Since the business is always moving and changing it’s wise to do the same.

If you could change anything about modeling, what would it be and why?

If I changed anything it would be the stigma that you have to be beautiful or have a great body to be a model. A lot of people out there think that because of their looks they would never be considered, when honestly it’s all about being confident and being yourself which counts.

You have done artistic nude modeling; describe your experience.

It was during this last shoot that I did my first nudes. We were on the dunes at the beach, early, and there were only a handful of people in sight. The setting had plenty of trees around so I wasn’t worried about anyone trying to sneak a peak. It’s an incredibly liberating feeling to be nude in the wilderness, and that’s what I really got out of it – the sensation of being one with every thing around me.

What influenced you do nude modeling?

Well, to begin with, I’ve always been a big art fan, so I thought it would be cool to do some poses reminiscent of famous statues. Then there’s the current trend in advertisings such as A&F where the models are either nude or partially nude. The body is a beautiful thing, and I believe this is a great way to express it artistically.
