Do
you feel you’re stereotyped playing Timmy?
People think that is the way I am, people that I have never met. When I first meet them they assume right off the bat that’s me and exactly how I am everyday. They first meet me they say "your hair is brown? Why isn’t it red or green or something?" But I think a lot of that is because of Kevin and Bryce are really similar in the sitcom to what they are in real life.
What is an average American family in your view, and how do the Briars fit into that description?
I don’t even think that there is an average family anymore. I mean, I guess like if you read in history books you hear about, you know, the mother, father, the two kids, the dog, the white fence and all that. But, I don’t think anybody’s got that anymore. Things are so changed now you have larger families and broken families and families with just one person in it, families of all cats. I don’t think there really is an average family anymore. So, I guess the Briars would be just as average as anybody else. They speak to each other, so I guess that would be above average.
If the Briars family would be on the show Survivor, what order would everyone be voted off the show, why? And who would be eaten first?
I think everyone would take a stand and vote themselves off. Everyone would end-up leaving. Eaten first? Um, I don’t know, I can see Kevin to be the one to lead that movement. He would be like, "hey Bryce, c’mere." Honestly, the way Timmy is and the way Kevin is I can see them being the first to try to eat somebody, even if they weren’t hungry.
You’ve
been asked to play in the next Richardson Production film called Kill
The Messenger, set during the Civil War . What are you feelings about
acting in a drama?
Actually, I would really like to do a drama so I can show that I have that ability. It’ll be interesting to see how that comes out. There is a lot of planning and lot of good acting going into this film.
How do you expect it to be different from a comedy?
I think Tim’s done some really good dramas. He has shown that he has the drama part down cold. He’s got so many resources going into it and so many good actors and good sights already selected and battle scenes planned. I think with the budget he has, it’s going to be amazing, and that is something I would really like to be a part of.
What are your hopes for your character?
Well, I hope he doesn’t die in the beginning of the movie. That would be disappointing. No, right now I have this expectation that it is going to be a good acting film with a lot of interactions with the characters with a lot of conflict. A lot of that emotion that you can’t really script the emotion that just has to be there with two actors that work together well, and I hope it ends up like that.
